Hydraulic oils generally contain Antiwear additives (AW). These additives protect moving surfaces during the boundary lubrication regime. The most common additive is Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP).
The levels of ZDDP can be measured by metals analysis, however the metals analysis does not reveal whether the ZDDP is still useable. Further testing is required to measure the ZDDP’s serviceability. These tests include:
•
Fourier Transform Infrared Analysis
•
Voltammetric Methods RULER)
The standard oil analysis packages below work well for AW oils. If further definition of the ZDDP is required, please contact the laboratory.
You are not limited to these standard packages. Please contact us for discount volume pricing for contracts or custom tailored programs to meet your special needs.
